MIRANDA- It continues to be a numbers game in Southern Humboldt. Again down in enrollment, South Fork made the decision to switch to 8-Man football.

The Cubs are expected to spend at least a few seasons in the NCL 3. They’ll compete against teams from the south region from Laytonville to the Bay Area.

Some of the differences… The field is smaller at 80 by 40 yards and with less players, the numbers on the jersey don’t matter so anyone can have the ball.

While South Fork doesn’t have a JV team, the Cubs do have 17 players in camp.

Head coach Andy Olsen said its a learning experience for him and his team.
